New Years Day Sunrise Paddle

Welcome the 2024 New Year in with a Sunrise on the Ocean!

A most beautiful way to start the New Year.

Join us to be Caught by the Dawn of 2024 by paddling to catch the sun rise from the popular Main Beach, Mt Maunganui. Allow the sun's emerging rays to compel us, paddling to the front of Motuotau Island, where it's just us and 2024.

Bring your brekky, because once the sun has broken above Maketu, and we've snapped every inch of it rising, there is no hurry to get back to shore. We discuss the New Year's aspirations and completely forget the past for a moment, before we paddle back to the shore together.

We're all done by 7:30am so you can continue your morning with a spring in your stride, feeling refreshed and renewed.

BYO breakfast in a sealed container.  We have dry bags to use.

IMPORTANT: 

YOU MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND BE COMFORTABLE PADDLING ON FLAT WATER. THIS EVENT DOES NOT INCLUDE A LESSON. Perfect conditions are not guaranteed. We paddle over 200 metres off-shore. Our instructors cannot provide one-on-one assistance, except in an emergency.
